Nery took place May 6 at the Tokyo Dome in Tokyo Japan Undisputed super bantamweight champion Naoya Inoue 27-0 24. Inoue outlanded the 29-year-old Nery by a margin of 21-4 in Round 1 according to CompuBox and went on to nearly double Nery in total punches. Naoya Inoue retained his undisputed super-bantamweight title with another destructive performance against Luis Nery.

Japanese star Naoya Inoue defended his undisputed super bantamweight championship against Luis Nery at the Tokyo Dome in Japan on Friday, May 6.

Inoue, who is widely considered to be one of the best pound-for-pound boxers in the world, dominated the fight from start to finish. He outlanded Nery by a significant margin in every round and dropped him twice, once in the second round and again in the seventh.

With the victory, Inoue improved his record to 27-0 (24 KOs). Nery, who suffered his first defeat as a professional, dropped to 31-1 (24 KOs).

The win was Inoue's fourth successful defense of his undisputed super bantamweight title. He is now the longest-reigning champion in the division.

In a post-fight interview, Inoue said that he was happy with his performance and that he is ready for his next challenge.

"I'm glad I was able to win and defend my title," Inoue said. "I'm ready for whatever comes next. I'm ready to fight anyone."
